Kingscreek quilters finish ‘Split Rail’

Kingscreek

Hello again.

Things are going along great this week. Even with this heat we have been busy.

Tuesday, we stayed in and quilted. The girls finished a beautiful purple and green print quilt. The pattern was called “Split Rail”. One of the prettiest ones I’ve seen in a while.

Wednesday was pretty much the same as Tuesday. Guess we are getting in a rut.

Thursday, we went to the park and fixed hot dogs. We all brought a covered dish and desserts. We had a pretty good crowd with a few visitors. Judy Eldridge’s grandson ‘Bubby’ was there. He is a very intelligent and sweet young man. In a few years he will be a real heartbreaker. Judy’s son Greg was also there doing the grilling.

Fay Herron’s daughter and two grandsons stopped by. Both boys, Patrick and Jonathan, are dolls.

My daughter Bunny Dol- larhyde and her boyfriend Josh Cornett came by and brought a fresh blackberry cobbler. It was good.

Mae Boggs’s son Bill Boggs brought her down and we convinced him to stay.

To everyone who came, thank you. It is always with us the more the merrier.

Hope everyone has a safe Fourth of July. Be careful with fireworks. Everything is so dry. Also, if around the water, watch the little ones closely.

Been looking at the gardens. They were doing so well until this record heat hit, now they are just drying up. Such a pity. I know people put a lot of effort and money into their gardens.

My two tomato plants and three cucumber plants are doing well.

Be careful with your outside animals. They need lots of water and a good shade. They suffer so in the heat. Take care to keep the water dish full.

Check to see that the kids are not getting too much sun, and check them for ticks. I was outside for 10 to 15 minutes and got a tick on me. Don’t care for those little creepy crawlers.

Take care of yourself and drink lots of water.

Until next time look for the good in any situation. Sometimes it is hard to find.
