It has been a beautiful, busy week around here.
Tuesday was the center’s day out. Sue Williams, Judy Eldridge, Faye Herron, Harold Day, Margie Sturgill, myself, and our driver, Cathy Ingram, all went out and about.
One of the first things we did was stop at Dairy Queen for breakfast. Several of the gentlemen in the ‘fibbers corner’ asked me to say something nice about them. Those I knew were Carl Boggs, Lee Boggs and Thomas Roark, and are all sweethearts, and the other guys have such good taste in who they hang out with.
So hello guys, have a great week and drink a cup of coffee for me.
Leaving there, we went to the nursing home to see Loreva Fields. She is there for rehab and seems to be doing quite well. Although they are good to her and it’s a beautiful place, she can’t wait to get home and back to the center.
While there, we stopped to see Mable Jo Buttrey. She is always such a gracious lady. Hope she gets to come home soon.
I also saw a friend of mine, Margie Collier. Love her to pieces.
If you know someone at the nursing home, stop by and see them. You will both feel better for the visit.
Several of the girls from Kingscreek Community Church are going to a ‘Women of Joy’ convention to join 8,000 other ladies for a weekend of prayer, fellowship, gospel music, shopping and just a good time.
I know they will have a great trip. Can’t wait to hear about it.
Blackey Center is visiting with us while their center gets a little remodeling. Welcome, ladies.
Also, our class is still going on. The ladies from Oven Fork are joining us for this. Glad to have them come up. Our center loves to have company.
If you go to a center, take time once in awhile to thank your site-based manager and the cooks. They work very hard to see we have a good time and good food.
If you don’t go to a center, try one. It has been one of my best decisions. Wish I had done it sooner.
Erma Hart had some surgery, but is doing much better. Hope she has a speedy recovery. I had the pleasure of spending some time with her granddaughter, Jade. She is one of the sweetest and brightest 4-year-olds I’ve had the pleasure of playing with.
That’s about it for this time. Have a great weekend, and we’ll talk again soon.
