Workers from Highway District 12’s Letcher County facility will replace a failed cross drain on KY 160 today (Wednesday). The road will be closed to traffic at mile point 6.245 about one-tenth of a mile south of KY 1103 toward Gordon.
The work is expected to take part of one day, from 8 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.
Superintendent Billy Smallwood said he wants to thank the people of Letcher County for their patience and understanding. “We really appreciate it when people who are stopped in traffic are courteous and patient. It helps us work safer, faster, and definitely reduces the stress on our flaggers. The folks in Letcher County have been great this summer, especially considering how uncomfortable everyone has been in this heat. We just want to thank everyone for working with us while we try to make our roads safer.”
