With the victory, the Knott County Central Lady Patriots, 15-8 overall, completed their district schedule with a 6-0 mark and will be the number one seed in the 53rd District tournament, hosted by Letcher County Central the week of Feb. 19.

The 11-12 Lady Cougars finished with a 4-2 district record and will be the second seed in the upcoming 53rd District tournament.

Cordia and June Buchanan will meet twice this weekend to determine the number 3 and 4 seeds.

The girls’ 14th Region tournament will be hosted by Estill County High School the week of Feb. 26.

The girls’ Sweet Sixteen begins on March 14 at Northern Kentucky University.
