The Letcher County Central Lady Cougars will open play in the 14th Regional Tournament this Friday at 5:30 p.m. and will face a Perry County Central team they defeated in January by a score of 66-62.
The tournament is being held at Perry Central, the same location where the Lady Commodores defeated Leslie County for the 54th District championship on March 16.
The Lady Cougars finished as the runners-up in the 53rd District Tournament after falling to Knott County Central in the title game, 48 to 44, also held on March 16.
If the Lady Cougars, which finished the season with an 11-3 record in the region, get past Perry Central (4-4) they will return to play on March 29 against the winner of Friday night’s Breathitt County vs. Powell County game. Tipoff for that game is set for 8 p.m.
