Looks like spring has finally sprung. The redbuds and dogwood trees are gorgeous this year.
Shannon Mullins was at Food City buying some flowers. They had and have really pretty pots of flowers.
Hazel Watkins came over and spent the weekend with me. We went walking and to church on Sunday. We had a pretty good time and it was really pretty all weekend, but we had to wear sleeves or freeze.
Whitesburg First Baptist Church is having a Lay Renewal Weekend that’s coming up this week. There is going to be plenty going on. Here is the schedule telling of all the events going on:
Thursday, April 25, 3 p.m., 24-hour prayer vigil begins at church.
Friday, April 26, 6:30 p.m., nursery opens; 6:30 p.m., fellowship dinner; 7:30 p.m., general session; 8:15 p.m., activities for children and youth, adult small discussion groups; 9 p.m., group reports and closing prayer.
Saturday, April 27, 9:30 a.m., nursery opens, drivers for coffees meet; 10 a.m., coffee in church members’ homes; 12 p.m., lunch; 1 p.m., men’s and women’s meetings, youth and children classes and activities; 6:30 p.m., fellowship dinner; 7:30 p.m., general session; 8:15 p.m., activities for children and youth, adult small discussion groups; 9 p.m., closing prayer.
Sunday, April 28, 9:45, joint Sunday school; 11 a.m., workshop service; 12:30 p.m., lunch; 6 p.m., commitment and evaluation service.
