Dylan Webb scored 24 points and hauled in 24 rebounds in Letcher County Central’s onepoint, 74 to 73, loss to Belfry December 13 that left the Cougars 0-4 on the season.
Webb hit 10 of 13 two-point field goal attempts and connected on four of six free throws in the game played at Belfry.
Ryan Lebrun scored 15 points for LCC, while Joby Johnson and Parker Williams contributed 10 points apiece. Matthew Dicks scored six points, Bodie Bentley added four points, and Nigel Nichols scored three points.
The loss to Belfry came one night after the Cougars fell to the Cordia Lions, 68 to 40, in a game played at Cordia.
Webb also led all Cougar scorers and rebounders in that game, with 17 and 13, respectively. Williams added 14 points, and Johnson had four. Rounding out the LCC scoring were Dicks with three points and Kaden Adams with two points.
Cold shooting hurt the Cougars against the Lions, as LCC shot only 23.5 percent from two-point range and 13.3 percent from behind the three-point line. The Cougars were also cold from the free-throw line, connecting on only six of 12 attempts.
LCC was scheduled to visit June Buchanan last night (Tuesday), then return home December 21 to play Knott County Central in the Pine Mountain Classic.
