Gregory Kincer scored 32 points and Tyler Boggs added 21 to lead the Letcher County Central Cougars to a 94 to 76 win in their season-opening basketball game at Wolfe County Friday night.
Kincer hit on 10 of his 13 field goal attempts and 12 of 16 free throw attempts to lead the Cougars. Boggs made eight of 12 of the shots he attempted from the field and was five for eight from the foul line.
Trevor Hardin scored 12 points for Letcher Central, followed by nine points from Caleb Stidham, six points from Parker Williams, five from Kenton Combs, four from Dylan Webb, three from Ryan Lebrun, and two points from Matt Dicks.
Boggs also led the Cougars in rebounding with 10, followed by Hardin’s six.
Sawyer Thompson led Wolfe County with 25 points. Jaz Johnson added 21 points, Hunter Brewer had 16 points, and Cole Crase scored 10 points.
Letcher Central was scheduled to host June Buchanan on Tuesday and Oneida Baptist Institute on Thursday (7:30 p.m.) before traveling to Breathitt County on Saturday to play the Bobcats in the Peggy Moore Classic.
