LCC girls improve to 19-8 on season

The Letcher County Central High School girls’ basketball team improved its record to 19 wins and 8 losses Monday night with a 53 to 52 win at Shelby Valley High School in Pike County.

Sophomore guard Kaylee Banks led all Lady Cougar scorers with 20 points on seven of eight shooting from two-point range and six free throws. Brooklyn Collins and Keira Couch both were perfect on their two-points shots (three for three) as they scored 13 points and nine points respectively. Loren Boggs also had nine points and Tori Holcomb scored two points.

The Lady Cougars will be on the road for their final three regular season games — at Pike County Central tonight (Feb. 12); at Pikeville on Feb. 13, and at Hazard on Feb. 18.
