LCCHS JROTC participates in Neon Days Festival parade

On September 8, the Letcher County Central High School JROTC participated in the Neon Days parade. The color guard consisted of the following cadets: Maddox Adams and Kevin Johnson were on the rifles, the U.S flag was carried by Emily Collier, the state flag was carried by Molly Collins, and the school flag was carried by Ashley Haley. The Dual Unarmed Exhibition team consisted of Cadets Makayla House and Madison Adams. The two Dual Armed Exhibition teams consisted of Dalton Werley, Chase McBee, and Jason Adams and Isaiah McCall. The Unarmed Exhibition team consisted of the following: Layla Bormes, Carly Kilbourne, Hannah Bormes, Haley Neice, Dawton Haley, Hannah Taylor, and Rebecca Bailey. Carrying the banner were Cadets Shawna Monroe, and Amber Vanderwarker. The JROTC received a trophy for Neon Area Days School Organization Float Winner. There were a lot of positive comments about the performance in the parade, and the cadets voiced their appreciation for the new award. (Photos by Damaris Sexton)
