given that Wilmay Land Holdings, Inc., 1421 North
US 23, Prestonsburg, Kentucky 41653, has applied for a renewal of a permit for a surface coal
mining and reclamation operation located approximately 0.30 miles southeast of Flint in Letcher
County. The proposed operation will disturb 65.00
surface acres and will underlie 138.90 acres and
the total area within the permit boundary will be
203.90 acres.
The proposed operation is approximately 0.90
miles southwest from KY 160’s junction with KY
Route 931 and located 0.30 miles west of Kings
Creek.
The proposed operation is located on the Roxana
U.S.G.S 72 minute quadrangle map. The operation will use the area mining method and contour
strip and auger/highwall mining methods of surface mining The surface area to be disturbed is
owned by Talmadge and Ernestine Meade, Luther
and Mildred Meade, Michael Shephard, Anderson
Ingram Jr. and Roberta L. Ingram, Kenneth and
Kathy Day, Terry and Havel Meade, Russell and
Shirley Ingram, Debora Pack, Enterprise Mining Company, LLC and Timberlands, LLC. The
operation will underlie land owned by Talmadge
and Ernestine Meade, Luther and Mildred Meade,
Michael Shephard, Anderson Ingram Jr. and Roberta L. Ingram, Kenneth and Kathy Day, Terry

given that Deane Mining LLC, P.O. Box 71,
Deane, Kentucky 41812 has applied for renewal
of a permit for an underground coal mining operation located 1.0 mile west of Democrat in Letcher
County. The proposed operation will disturb 9.0
surface acres and will underlie 234.0 acres, and
the total area within the permit boundary will be
243.0 acres.
The operation is approximately 1.0mile west
from KY 7’s junction with KY 113 and located on
Rockhouse Creek.
The operation is located on the Mayking U.S.G.S.
7 1/2 minute quadrangle map. The surface area
to be disturbed is owned by Pristine Resources,
Inc.
The application has been filed for public inspection at the Department for Surface Mining
Reclamation and Enforcement’s Pikeville Regional Office, 121 Mays Branch Rd., Pikeville,
Kentucky 41501. Written comments, objections,

Virginia 24614 has applied for a renewal application of a permit for an access haul road operation
located 0.1 mile east of Polly in Letcher County,
Kentucky. The existing operation disturbs 17.03
acres.
The existing operation is approximately 0.1 mile
south from KY 931’s junction with KY 1862 and
located 0.1 mile south of Camp Branch Creek
of Rockhouse Creek.
The existing operation is located on the Mayking U.S.G.S. 7 ½ minute quadrangle map. The
surface area to be disturbed is owned by Earnest
Cook Heirs (Sandra Sue Cook, Michael K. Cook,
Randy A. Cook, Mark Wayne Cook, Earnest Stephen Cook and Earnestine Franks) and Sapphire

route 15 and located on Sandlick Creek. The
existing operation is located on the Mayking and
Whitesburg U.S.G.S. 7 ½ minute quadrangle
maps. The surface area to be disturbed is owned
by S. G. Fairchild Heirs, LLC, Don Brown and
ANR Coal Company.
