40507 has applied for a renewal of an existing
surface coal mining and reclamation operation.
The operation will disturb 759.55 surface acres
and will underlie 739.3 acres for a total permit
area of 1498.85 acres located 3 miles south of
Carrie in Letcher County.
The permit area is approximately 2 miles north of
the junction of Route 803’s with Route 113 and
located primarily on the ridge between the Left
and Right Forks of Millstone Creek.
The proposed operation is located on the Mayking
and Jenkins West U.S.G.S. 7 1/2 minute quadrangle maps. The surface area to be disturbed
is owned by Ricky D. Kirk and Jerry Wells. The
operation will use the contour, area, underground,
auger, highwall miner methods of mining.

operations for a total of 8717.65 acres located 2.0
miles northwest of Shelby Gap in Pike and Letcher
Counties.
The proposed amendment area is approximately
1.7 miles northwest from U.S. Route 23 junction
with Marshall Branch Road and located 0.3 miles
west of Marshall Branch.
The proposed operation is located on the Dorton,

1073 Riverview Street, Grundy, Virginia 24614 has
applied for a renewal application for an existing coal
refuse facility and surface coal mining and reclamation operation located 1.0 mile south of Polly in
Letcher County, Kentucky. The existing operation
disturbs 239.76 surface acres for a total permitted
area of 239.76 acres.
The existing operation is approximately 1.0 miles
southeast of the junction of KY 931’s junction
with KY 1862 and located 0.05 mile east of Camp
Branch. The existing operation is located on the
Mayking U.S.G.S. 7 ½ minute quadrangle map.
The surface area to be disturbed is owned by

permit for underground mining operation and reclamation operation located 3 miles southeast of
Eolia in Letcher County. The proposed operation
will disturb 109.61 surface acres and will underlie
5,118.43 acres and the total area within the permit
boundary will be 5,228.04 acres.
The proposed operation is approximately 2.79 miles
southeast from US 119’s junction with KY 806 and
located 0.38 miles south of Franks Creek.
The operation is on the Flat Gap and Whitesburg
U.S.G.S. 7 ½ minute quadrangle maps. The surface
area to be disturbed is owed by ACIN LLC, Mrs.
Jess B. Collins, Oscar Sturgill, Luther Cooper and
Maude Dingas. The operation will underlie land

an underground coal mining operation located approximately located 1.7 mile southwest of Delphia in
Letcher, Perry, and Harlan Counties. The proposed
operation will disturb 40.37 surface acres.
The operation is approximately 1.7 miles southeast
of KY 463’s junction with Stony Fork Road and
located 10 feet east of Stony Fork.
