reclamation operation affecting 1806.52 acres of
surface disturbance and 9848.73 acres overlying underground and auger operations for a total
of 8717.65 acres located 2.0 miles northwest of
Shelby Gap in Pike and Letcher Counties.
The proposed amendment area is approximately
1.7 miles northwest from U.S. Route 23 junction
with Marshall Branch Road and located 0.3
miles west of Marshall Branch.
The proposed operation is located on the Dorton, Jenkins East, and Jenkins West U.S.G.S. 7
½ minute quadrangle map. The surface area to

hereby given thatBlackjewel L.L.C., 1051 Main
Street, Milton, WV 25541, has applied for renewal
of a permit for underground mining operation and
reclamation operation located 3 miles southeast
of Eolia in Letcher County. The proposed operation will disturb 109.61 surface acres and will
underlie 5,118.43 acres and the total area within
the permit boundary will be 5,228.04 acres.
The proposed operation is approximately 2.79
miles southeast from US 119’s junction with KY
806 and located 0.38 miles south of Franks Creek.
The operation is on the Flat Gap and Whitesburg
U.S.G.S. 7 ½ minute quadrangle maps. The
surface area to be disturbed is owed by ACIN
LLC, Mrs. Jess B. Collins, Oscar Sturgill, Luther
Cooper and Maude Dingas. The operation will
underlie land owned by ACIN LLC, Mrs. Jess
B. Collins, Oscar Sturgill, Luther Cooper and
Maude Dingas.
The application has been filed for public inspection at the Department for Natural Resources,
Hazard Regional Office, 556 Village Lane, Hazard, KY 41702. Written comments, objections,
