NOTICE OF INTENTION
TO MINE
Pursuant to Application Number 867-0498,
Amendment 2
In accordance with the provisions to KRS 350.070,
notice is hereby given that A & G Coal Corporation,
P O Box 2178, Beaver, WV 25813 has applied for
an amendment to an existing surface coal mining
and reclamation operation located 0.5 miles north
of Partridge in Letcher County. The amendment
will add 47.40 acres of surface disturbance and will
delete 559.76 acres of shadow area for a total of
463.56 acres within the amended permit boundary.
The permit area is 3 miles southeast of the junction
of Lewis Creek Rd. and Route 119. The permit
area is in Lewis and Colliers Cr.
The proposed operation is located on the Appalachia U.S.G.S. 7 1/2 minute quadrangle map. The
surface area to be disturbed by is owned by NRP,
LLC. The operation will use the (contour, auger,
area or combination) method of surface mining.
The application has been filed for public inspection
at the Department for Natural Resources, Middlesboro Regional Office, 1804 East Cumberland
Avenue, Middlesboro, Kentucky 40965.
Written comments, objections, or requests for a
permit conference must be filed with the Director,
Division of Mine Permits, 300 Sower Blvd 2nd Floor,
Frankfort, KY 40601.
