Lelia H. Banks, 90, succumbs



Funeral services for Lelia H. Banks, 90, of Elizabethtown, will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow (Thursday) at the Little Cowan Primitive Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Banks family cemetery.

A daughter of the late Crate and Nell Holbrook, she was the widow of James E. Banks and a sister of the late Joye Saylor Charping and John Masten Holbrook. She died November 14.

She was retired from civil service after 30 years, and enjoyed church and quilting.

Surviving are a daughter, Janie Bennett of Elizabethtown; a son, Jim Banks and wife Theresa of Hodgenville; seven grandchildren, Diana Shadowen and husband Jarrod, Becky Murdock and husband Jason, Brandon Banks, Wes Stroud, Katie Bennett, Patrick Banks and Tori Banks; and three greatgrandchildren, Wilson and Sully Shadowen and Pixie Murdock.

Letcher Funeral Home of Whitesburg has charge of arrangements.
