Lena Stines succumbs




Lena Johnson Stines, 92, died September 21 at her home in McRoberts.

A daughter of the late Ben and Delphie Bentley Johnson, she was the widow of Cecil Stines.

Mrs. Stines was preceded in death by five sons, Carl Cecil, Bennett Lee, Jerry E., Danny Wayne and Jeffery Keith; two daughters, Joyce Faye and Patsy Maxine; a granddaughter, Kimberly Ann; three sisters, Maxine Sanders, Pearl Batton and Ruby Skeens; and a brother, Elmer Childers.

Sur viving are two daughters, Eunice Sue Hall and husband Odis, and Gaye Meade and husband Linville; two sons, Jack Stines and wife Donna, and Randall Cecil Stines; a daughter-in-law, Linda Stines; 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held September 25 at the Moores Chapel Church. Burial was in the Bentley Cemetery at Payne Gap.

Letcher Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
