A Letcher County couple accused of stabbing and beating two people in Pound, Va., last week have turned themselves in.
Pound police announced over the weekend that Gwendolyn Faye Nelson, 29, and Bennie Donald Hicks, 42, were wanted for attempted murder and malicious wounding in two stabbings that occurred on September 30 on North River Road in Pound. In the first incident, a man was struck with a baseball bat and then stabbed. The second victim, a woman, was found later on the same day stabbed numerous times and assaulted.
Nelson, also known as Lyn Nelson, is charged with two counts of attempted murder, two counts of aggravated malicious wounding and one count of conspiracy to commit aggravated murder.
Hicks, also known as Kojack, is charged with one count of aggravated malicious wounding and one count of conspiracy to commit aggravated malicious wounding.
The two turned themselves in at the police department on Tuesday.
