Letcher Co. native will return here to practice

Letcher County native Dr. Colton (Cole) Cornett will be moving back to Letcher County with his wife Sierra in the early fall of 2021, where Dr. Cornett will practicing pediatrics with Mountain Comprehensive Health Corporation after completing his residency in Pediatric Medicine at the University of Kentucky School of Medicine.

Dr. Cornett was raised in the Blackey area of Letcher County, where he lived with his parents, Kenny and Ginger Cornett. He graduated from Letcher County Central High School, Alice Lloyd College and the University of Pikeville-Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine prior to starting his pediatric residency.

“We are very proud that Cole has decided to make MCHC his career choice,” said MCHC CEO L. M. (Mike) Caudill. “He represents the new breed of physician — locally grown, locally educated and trained to come back to the place of his upbringing to spend his career taking care of the children and later on, the grandchildren of the people with whom he grew up. He knows the people, he talks their talk, is affected by the same issues which affects them, feels their pain and shares their joy.”
