March 8 through 10, the Letcher County Central High School JROTC traveled to Fort Knox for the 7th Brigade All Army Drill Competition. The Letcher County cadets competed against 66 schools totaling 900 cadets. The cadets performed in Unarmed and Armed Color Guard Competition, Drill and Ceremony Competition, the Academic Challenge and the Knockout Competitions. While at Fort Knox the cadets had the opportunity to visit and speak with the soldiers of the Fort Knox 34th Military Police Working Dog Detachment, the 19th Engineer Battalion and the 5-159 Aviation Unit.
Cadet Madison Adams placed seventh out of 470 cadets in the knockout event, which requires self-discipline and military command accuracy.
