August 26 — The Kingscreek Community Church will sell soup bean dinners from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Deliveries are available or dine at the church. The menu is soup beans, kraut and wieners, cornbread and dessert for $5. To pre-order, call 633-2919 or 633-0901.

. September 3 — The Watts family reunion will be held at the Campbell’s Branch Community Center beginning at noon. Those attending should bring a covered dish.

September 24 — The HOMES, Inc., annual Adopt-A-Duck Race will be held at 5 p.m. Ducks are available to be adopted from the HOMES office at 65 Bentley Ave., Whitesburg, Monday through Friday, from 9 am. to 4 p.m. One duck is $5, six ducks are $25 and 12 ducks and a t-shirt are $50.
