“Every day, libraries in big cities and small towns, in colleges and universities, in schools and businesses help transform their communities,” says Library Director Lina Tidal. “At our library, people of all backgrounds can come together for community meetings, lectures and programs, to do research with the assistance of a trained professional, to get a job or to find homework help. Our children’s story hours, computers, exercise programs, adult and young adult programs and movies are popular and well attended.”

First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association and libraries across the country each April.
