Lance Simon, who was a principal designer of the Letcher County Courthouse remodeling project in the 1990’s while working for the Whitesburg architectural firm Richardson Associates art, is the newest member of the Shelter Partnership Inc. Board of Directors.
Started in 1985 and based in Los Angeles, Shelter Partnership is a non-profit organization dedicated to ending homelessness by assisting in the development of affordable housing solutions, short-term and long-term, for the homeless and potentially homeless throughout Los Angeles County.
Simon is the son of Mary Elizabeth Simon and grandson of Irene Smith, both of Mayking. His grandfather is the late Raymond Smith, who worked for many years in administration at South East Coal Company.
Simon is now the principal and director of design at Egan/Simon Architecture of Miami and Los Angeles, where he has expertise in affordable housing, high-rise, mixed-use developments, high-end residential and financial institutions and commercial offices.
