Letcher Grand Jury names 16 in indictments

The Letcher Grand Jury has named James Hicks, 46, in an indictment charging him with theft by unlawful taking. Hicks is accused of taking household goods and property belonging to David Johnson and valued at more than $500.

David Johnson testified in the case.

Others indicted are:

• William Earl Anderson, 36, of 90 State Drive, Cromona, who is charged with first-degree trafficking in controlled substances (methamphetamine) and use/ possession of drug paraphernalia.

Kentucky State Trooper Jonthan Rouse testified in the case.

• Deric Nolan Boggs, 19, of 48 Raspberry Road, Whitesburg, who is charged with use/possession of drug paraphernalia and firstdegree possession of controlled substance (methamphetamine, first offense).

Letcher County Deputy Sheriff Seth Whitaker testified in the case.

• Samantha J. Reed, 35, of 389 Lakeshore Drive, Burnside, who is accused of first-degree criminal possession of controlled substance (methamphetamine, first offense).

Letcher County Deputy Sheriff Seth Whitaker testified in the case.

• Billy Jason Franks, 41, of 124 Cookville Road, Whitesburg, who is charged with first-degree bail jumping. Franks is accusing of failing to appear in Letcher Circuit Court in connection with a felony charge.

Lisa Slone of the Office of the Letcher County Commonwealth Attorney testified in the case.

• Joseph C. Profitt, 43, of 3904 Thornton Road, Whitesburg, who is charged with first-degree bail jumping. Profitt is accusing of failing to appear in Letcher Circuit Court in a pending felony proceeding.

In a second indictment, Profitt is charged with first-degree bail jumping for failure to appear in Letcher Circuit Court in a pending felony proceeding.

Lisa Slone of the Office of the Letcher County Commonwealth Attorney testified in the cases.

Four people are charged with flagrant non-support of their minor children and with being firstdegree persistent felony offenders. They are:

• Gina Means, 47, of 101 Baxter Ave., Apt. 29-A, Dawson Springs

• Michael Johnson, 37, of 2662 Penns Chapel Road, Bowling Green

• Ricky Bates, 56, of 230 Buster Road, Millstone

• Terry Baker, 47, of 212 Fairview Lane, Neon

• Melissa Cook, 38, of 117 Allen K. Hollow, Isom, is charged with flagrant non-support of her minor children and with being a seconddegree persistent felony offender.

Also charged with flagrant non-support of their minor children are:

• Katelyn Goodman, 25, of 128 Moonshine Dr., Whitesburg, who is named in two indictments accusing her of flagrant nonsupport.

• James Elkins, 29, of 169 Chip Dr., Thornton

• Ashley Hager, 35, of 47 Smith Lane, Lancaster

• Jamie Johnson, 34, of 300 Chopping Branch Road, McRoberts

• Delwyn Mignogna III, 49, of 2808 Hwy. 160, Premium.

Monica Adams of the Letcher County Division of Child Support Enforcement testified in the cases.
