Letcher County native Jeffrey Wayne Collier, 45, of Somerset, died November 21 from injuries received in an accident in Pulaski County.
According to the Pulaski County Sheriff ’s Department, Misty Eldridge, 33, of Somerset, was attempting to cross KY 914 in a 2009 Mitsubishi when she pulled into the path of Collier’s 2009 Harley Davidson motorcycle.
Collier, a former Kentucky State Police trooper, was treated at the scene of the accident and was then flown to the University of Kentucky Medical Center, where he died.
Born at Partridge, he was the son of the late Roger and Lela Collier, and the grandson of the late Lelia Collier and Wilson and Lillie Burton.
He is survived by his wife, Jenny Huff Collier; a daughter, Jillian Collier, Somerset; a sister, Diana Collier Watts and husband Rick, Partridge; his grandfather, Orville Collier Sr., Partridge; and a nephew, Blake Watts.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today (Wednesday) at the Lewis Creek Pentecostal Church. Burial will be in the Collier-Holly Ridge Cemetery at Partridge.
