Letcher woman faces felony theft charge in case of missing dolls

A 38-year-old Colson woman is charged with theft of more than $500 after she allegedly took “three collectible dolls” without their owner’s permission.

Shannon Nease, of 767 Camp Fork Road, was served with a summons ordering her to appear in Letcher District Court on September 19 to answer charges contained in a criminal complaint filed by the owner of the dolls, Crystal Godsey of 6794 Hwy. 931 N, Whitesburg. Letcher County

Deputy Sheriff Mike Enfusse served the summons August 27.

According the complaint, Godsey “states that on March 10, 2018 (Nease) committed the offense of theft by unlawful taking greater than $500 when she intentionally took three collectible dolls from Crystal Godsey’s home with the intent to deprive her thereof. The dolls are together valued in excess of $500.”

The charge against Nease is a felony.
