Just a short bit of a column this week. I seem to be too forgetful to write much.
Recently Dorothy Cornett celebrated her birthday at her home at Sycamore Loop with her children and grandchildren there to wish her a happy birthday.
Also, Mitchell Wright was given a party by his family and friends to celebrate his birthday. It was held at the Shriners building in Whitesburg. Jeremiah
The 1976 graduates from Letcher High School had a class reunion on Saturday evening at none other than the Senior Citizens building at Blackey. I was out of town so I’m not sure of how many attended, but hopefully all had a good time catching up with each other. Maybe I’ll find out more later.
Bob, Hunter Banks and I left Saturday and spent the night in Lexington with our daughter and son-in-law Jessie and Andy Scott.
Then on Sunday we got up and drove to Goshen, Ohio, to attend the Northern New Home Church. It was good to see everyone again and after church we had dinner before heading home.
We traveled the old 52 route by the Ohio River on our way home and took the river ferry across at Augusta.
William and Lyndci Gilliam came in last weekend and brought their nephew, Noah Campbell, a huge pumpkin. They spent the night at Don and Coreen’s Sycamore house and on Saturday we all got together for a country breakfast, homegrown pork, country eggs, biscuits, gravy, fried apples and jelly. It was delicious and we enjoyed being together.
Ben and Jacquie Caudill’s son, Logan, had his tonsils and adenoids removed last Wednesday and is doing pretty well.
Our sympathy to the family of Margaret Caudill of Adams Branch, who died. She was the widow of Mitchell Caudill and leaves many to mourn her.
Freda Adams of Isom, had her brother, Bartley, of Florida, visiting for a few days last week. She recently had a heart cath and hadn’t been able to do much to help Ivan out, so their neighbor has been helping.
Also, we hope Phyllis Martin of Isom, is feeling better. She recently had surgery.
We hope Mary Blair, Rob Campbell and others who have been having health problems are better this week.
