Library plans events for Whitesburg Day





Events planned at the Harry M. Caudill Memorial Library in Whitesburg during Whitesburg Day of the Mountain Heritage Festival on Wednesday, Sept. 23, include:

9:30 a.m. Puppet show for the entire family.

10:30 a.m. Quilting demonstration by the Cowan Quilting Women.

1 p.m. Dedication of the Lula Brown Technology Room. Refreshments will be served.

1:30 p.m. Puppet show for the entire family.

During the week of Sept. 21-30, exhibits will include a quilt display and winning entries in the essay, poetry, photography and poster contests.

Amnesty weeks will also be observed the last two weeks of September. All overdue fines will be forgiven and new and replacement library cards will be issued for free. Library patrons must be present to request these.

Basic computer classes will begin October 8 at the library. The classes will last for six weeks every Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. for 10 students.
