HANNAH JOHNSON

June Buchanan School seventh-grader Jaden Pugh and Letcher County Central High School senior Hannah Johnson were among the winners of Kentucky Farm Bureau’s annual Outstanding Youth and Variety competition, held in 11 districts around the state.

Students compete in an onstage presentation related to agriculture or the Farm Bureau and a personal interview in the Outstanding Youth category, and in an act — vocal, instrumental, dance or drama — in the Variety contest.

Jaden took first place honors for his rendition of Elvis Presley’s “An American Trilogy”, and will represent the district at the state variety showcase held during the Kentucky Farm Bureau Federation in Louisville in early December.

Hannah received runner up recognition in the Outstanding Youth contest.
