LOIS JEAN SMITH

Lois Jean Smith, 75, died September 3 at her home in Blackey.

A daughter of the late Chester and Ima Jean Qualls Caudill, she was the widow of Shelp Smith.

Surviving are three sons, Cheddy Smith and wife Melanie of Blackey, Jody Smith and wife Lana of Cumberland, and Marty Smith and wife Juanita of Cowan; a brother, Lowell Caudill and wife Sandy of Letcher; three sisters, Francis Smith and husband of Michigan, Cindy Williams and husband James of Blackey, and Jenny Halcomb and husband Chuck of Letcher; eight grandchildren, Willy Jo, Chase, Austin, Kyle, Little Marty, Emily, Devin, and Kevin; a great-grandchild, Kaylee; and a special aunt, Rachel Caudill.

Funeral services for Mrs. Smith were held September 5 at Mount Olivet Church at Blackey. Burial was in the Jent Mountain Cemetery.

Letcher Funeral Home of Whitesburg had charge of arrangements.
