Lois Tackett Jackson dies

Lois Tackett Jackson, 76, of Lexington, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 10, 2008 at Central Baptist Hospital. Born in Tolliver Town, Ky., she was a daughter of the late Henry Clayton and Rebecca Brewer Anderson. A gifted painter, she was one of the first Head Start teachers and was a member of Fleming Baptist Church, Eastern Star and Fleming-Neon High School Alumni. Preceding her in death were her first husband, Calvin E. Tackett; brothers and sisters, Irene Anderson, Edward Anderson, Mayo Anderson, Otis Anderson and Pluma Anderson Meade, and a step-grandson, Christopher Michael Jackson. She was very much loved and will be dearly missed by her husband Roger S. Jackson; a son, Calvin Randall (Elaine) Tackett, Jenkins; two daughters, Rebecca Tackett (Steve) Addington, Jenkins and Kelli Tackett (Phillip) Graham, Jay, Fla.; step-children, Candace Ann (Earl) Barron, Georgetown, Guy W. (Debbie) Jackson II, Versailles and John Anthony (Kathy) Jackson, Winston-Salem, NC; brothers, Pat C. (Nagatha) Anderson, Jenkins and Huey (Peggy) Anderson, Huntsville, AL; sister, Doris Anderson (Charles) Stallard, Jenkins; sister-in-law, Adrianne Hulett, Frankfort; grandchildren, Steve Eric Addington, Jenkins, Leigh Ander Tackett, Jenkins, Shannon Graham, Jay, Fla., Kara Rebecca Addington and her fiancé, Brandon Morgan Stanley, Richmond and Mason Angela Tackett, Jenkins and her fiancé Michael Gibson, Neon; stepgrandchildren, Howard Chandler (Stacie) Platt III, Georgetown, John Brandon Platt, Greensboro, NC, Katherine Michelle (Tristan), Florida, Leslie Nichole Jackson, New York, NY, Kyle S. Jackson, Louisville, Teresa (Keith) Arnold, Anderson, SC and Stacy (Brian) Ishmael, Cynthiana; step-greatgrandchildren, Katelynn Arnold, Lauren and Preston Ishmael and Chase and Amelia Pratt and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was at 1:00 p.m. Friday at Carty Funeral Home, Polly and Craft Chapel, Jenkins, KY with entombment in Green Acres Cemetery, Ermine.
