Lora Sexton dies at 88

Lora Hall Craft Sexton, 88, died December 30 at her home in Whitesburg.

Also known as “DeeDee,” “Lora Mae,” “Auntie Mae,” and “Big Lo”, Mrs. Sexton was a daughter of the late Bill and Opal Hall.

She was the widow of Clyde Sexton, and a sister of the late Loretta Adams, Lillian Nease, Lena Hall, Betty Addington, and Claude Hall.

Mrs. Sexton was a member of Thornton Old Regular Baptist Church.

Surviving are three sons, Mike Craft and wife Tena, Mark Craft and wife Robin, and Harold Craft and wife Judy, all of Whitesburg; seven grandchildren, Amy “Nikki” Blackburn and husband Jeremy, Jason Craft, Emily Hays and husband Nick, Mark Aaron Craft and wife Savanna, Alyshia Craft, Char-Leigh Arnold and husband Brandon, and Lori Craft; two great-grandchildren, Ava Tolliver and Connor Hays; and a brother, Billy Joe Hall and wife Fern.

Funeral services for Mrs. Sexton were held January 1 at Mayking Old Regular Baptist Church. Burial was in Green Acres Cemetery at Ermine.
