Lost glasses make senior moment

Hello everyone. I hope everyone has had a good first week of spring. It’s good seeing the trees budding out and the spring flowers blooming.

I ‘officially’ had my first senior moment and I still don’t know why it happened. We were in Ohio and getting ready to leave the hotel when it happened.

I was rushing around and suddenly realized I didn’t have my glasses on. We had stayed in a duplex with two bedrooms, kitchen, living room and bathroom, so there were a lot of places to look for them.

I looked on the dresser and night stands, went into the bathroom and looked on the counter. Finally I asked Mike if he had seen them, and he helped looked around. I even went through the dirty clothes that were already packed.

Then Mike looked at me and said, “They’re on your head.” I patted the top of my head and said, “They’re not there.” He said, “On your face.”

Yes, I had had my glasses on the entire time. I don’t know why I decided I couldn’t see when I was seeing normal for me.

It was one of those moments that you’re embarrassed but you know it’ll be a good story to tell.

Robert and Kathy Sword celebrated their 46th anniversary on March 22. They have two children, two grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter. Wishing them a great anniversary.

Registration for Cowan Creek Mountain Music School is open. It will run from June 24-28, and will be held at the Cowan Community Center. You can register at Cowancreekmusic.org.

My brother, sister-in-law, husband and I all took a drive and went to the Dinah Blair Cemetery. It was amazing how much trash there was along that drive.

There’s a wide spot before the last turn to the cemetery and it’s being treated as a dump. There was even an old television set there.

Just down from there were bags of garbage thrown over the hill. I couldn’t believe how people treat this beautiful land.

We also did a drive to Fishpond Lake. It was a gorgeous drive but in one area there were bags of trash thrown over the hill. Keeping this county clean involves caring.

It was good seeing Harold Day at church. I’m glad he is getting out and about.
