A 30-minute multi-screen production about Kentucky’s history and culture will premiere in a new theater at the Kentucky Center on Sept. 12.
"KentuckyShow," which includes presentations from Letcher County, is being resurrected after an eight-year hiatus with help from Donna Lawrence, an award-winning filmmaker whose work has been featured at the Sundance Film Festival.
The original presentation was offered for two decades, first in Louisville and finally in Bardstown before being closed in 2000.
The rebirth of the show in Louisville’s Kentucky Center will occur in a new 100-seat theater that is being constructed in the center’s former north lobby.
Construction on the new theater started in early March. Cliff Milligan, the center’s vice president of building services, says work to install the screen will begin in early July.
