I hope everyone had a happy Valentine’s Day. Did you remember your Valentine?
I am not talking about a box of calories either, or a stuffed animal with an inflated price tag. All those articles are worldly goods that will not last long. Love is the only thing worthy of lasting for any length of time. Even love will not last unless it is real.
Many, many people will express love to another, but do they show that love all of the time? If not, it is merely words without foundation whether it is directed at a child or an adult. Even a small child is thrilled when someone tells it that they love it, but even a child can tell if it is love or merely words.
It is easy to fool a child for a while because they are innocent and trusting, but don’t try to fool your mother or grandmother, because they know more about you than you know about yourself. In fact, if you give Grandma a box of calories (chocolates) don’t be surprised if she asks how much is it going to cost her.
However, don’t hesitate to show her that you didn’t forget her, whether she believes you are sincere or not. It may just earn you a piece of cake made from scratch, and there’s nothing better, unless it would be some fried pies.
I haven’t the faintest idea where Valentine’s Day started, but I think the little ones get the most enjoyment out of it because they couldn’t care less why they got a candy or stuffed animal, just so they got it. And they get to give Valentine cards out to their little friends and have a party sometimes, too. But the adults want much more and expect much more.
Personally, I had rather see one happy little child than a house full of happy adults.
That’s all from the funny farm until next time.
