It seems as if I just wrote my last column yesterday, but I guess it has been a week ago. Time just seems to fly by sometimes.
Chester and Odella Blair were visiting here over the weekend. They enjoyed visiting family and friends and attended Little Ruby Church on Sunday.
We attended the memorial service at the Spring Branch Cemetery on Sunday. Not too many were out this year and we missed those who are usually there. I think sometimes people get busy and forget about the service on the hill.
Mattie Lou Back said her sister Betty Sue had surgery recently and is taking treatments. Our prayers go out to her. We hope she can feel better soon. We missed her at the memorial, but her daughters Jennifer and Sandra were able to make it. Sylvania Whitaker was able to be there and said she was just feeling fair, but was able to sing a pretty song for us all.
Tim Back has been having problems with his back lately, and was going to see a specialist.
We’re glad that Brandon Holcomb wasn’t seriously hurt in his recent 4-wheeler accident. He is the son of Robert and Diane Holcomb of Isom.
This past weekend was the Arch and Artie Cornett family reunion. I hope all had a good time.
Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Dean Caudill had their son Benji home for a while. He was on leave.
On Saturday, Bob took Hunter and Hayden Banks to Kingdom Come State Park, where they rode paddleboats, hiked and walked across the log rock. Hannah had cheerleading camp, but she made Bob promise to take her back later.
This weekend will be the memorial meeting for the deceased members of the Blair Branch Church. Their names will be read at 10 a.m. Sunday. We will have and after the service. All are welcome to attend.
That’s it for now. Have a good week.
