Mack Walters dies at 80



Funeral services for Mack Walters, 80, were held April 6 at Mount Olivet Old Regular Baptist Church in Blackey. Burial was in Walters Cemetery at Elkcreek.

Born in Blackey to the late McKinley and Eliza Patton Walters, he died April 4 at Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Hospital.

He was the widower of Carolyn Sue Walters, and a brother of the late Billy Joe Bolling, Curtis Bolling, Delbert Bolling, Calvin Bolling, Arnold Bolling, Dorse Walters, Earl Walters, Henry Jay Walters, Johnnie Ray Walters, Georgia Halcomb, Jessie Banks, Vada Williams, Sally Wells, and Alice Pitts.

Surviving are two stepdaughters, Carol Slone and Jennifer Cornett, both of Blackey; a brother, Cecil Walters of Jackson; four half-brothers, William Walters, Charlie Wayne Walters, Ralph Walters and Russell Dean Walters, all of Blackey; a half-sister, Virgie Martin of Blackey; and a step-grandson, Justin Engle of Blackey.
