Mae Boggs enjoys visit with children

Mae Boggs reports a good visit with her children in Louisville and Lexington. She visited her granddaughter, Melissa, and John Tipper and boys in their new home in Oldham County. Mae is happy Melissa moved back from Paducah close to her mother, Rebecca Boggs Mohn. They will be a lot of help to each other. Melissa’s home is beautiful. Her husband, John, is a principal at a high school nearby.

Mae also visited with her two sons, Kelly and Tim Boggs, and their families. Tim’s daughter left to go on a cruise Sunday morning. Mae is hoping and praying for her safe return.

Last Sunday, Mae went to Hurricane Gap to church. Kim Roark, her nephew’s wife, was baptized. They had a large crowd and a good meeting. After church they had dinner on the ground at Charles Shepherd’s place with plenty of good food. Mae got to see her sister-in-law, Lucille Boggs, Joe Boggs’s widow from Knott County. She was glad to see her doing so well.

Vera Mitchell is doing very well after getting over her fall.

Anna Yonts, Ella Preston, and Virginia Brown had a fun day and got some good bargains at the flea market in Wise and the yard sales.

Verna Rayburn spent a week with her daughter, Renee, and family in Columbus, Ohio. She had a great week being entertained by her grandchildren, Leah and Spencer. They had lunch at German Village and a tour of Bexley, the community where they will be living. Renee will be teaching seventh grade at Upper Arlington. Leah is happy to be going to the school where her daddy is librarian.

We were sorry to hear of the death of Mark Banks, another member of our community.
