Making art on Main Street

Artists Sherry Sexton (left) and Diana Holbrook (right) worked on paintings on Main Street in Whitesburg on Saturday as part of a “Plein Air Art Demonstration” sponsored by the Letcher County Tourism Commission as part of the Spring Art Walk held in conjunction with the annual Seedtime Festival. Sexton and Holbrook were among six artists who began their paintings at 9 a.m. and had to have them finished by 6 p.m. The six painting will be auctioned during the September Art Walk to benefit the Underground Gallery in Whitesburg. Lacy Hale, Doug Adams, Patricial Shelton, and Anna Daniel Hall are the other artists taking part in the event and the coming fall sale. (Photo by Heather Lind)
