Man and woman admit to guilt on sex, drug counts



A man and woman who pleaded guilty to felony sex and drug offense charges will be formally sentenced in Letcher Circuit Court on Nov. 5.

Lester A. Brown and Tonya Faye Combs both admitted to engaging in illegal sexual and controlled substance activity with a minor less than 16 years of age. They further admitted to assisting or providing marijuana and alcoholic beverages to the same minor.

Brown and Combs pleaded guilty to firstdegree criminal solicitation unlawful transaction with a minor less than 16, second-degree unlawful transaction with a minor and third-degree unlawful transaction with a minor. Combs also pleaded guilty to third-degree sodomy. Brown pleaded guilty to criminal complicity to third-degree sodomy.

Letcher Commonwealth’s Attorney Edison G. Banks II has recommended that Combs serve a sentence of six years imprisonment and Lester Brown serve five years imprisonment.

Both must comply with the Sex Offender Registry and Sex Offender Treatment Programs.

Kentucky State Police Detective Vicki Day led the investigation in collaboration with Banks and staff.
