A Jenkins man was arrested Sunday night outside the Whitesburg Walmart and charged with public intoxication.
A woman saw Kentucky State Police Trooper Jason Bates inside Walmart and told him that she and her child exited their vehicle in the Whitesburg Plaza parking lot, and Orville L. Hall, 57, of 695 Joe’s Branch, was sitting nearby in a parked vehicle, according to information from a written citation. Hall allegedly commented on the child and asked the woman to get in the vehicle with the child, the citation said.
As Bates was leaving the store he saw Hall standing in the entrance.
“While speaking with him I noticed his eyes were bloodshot and his speech was slurred,” Bates wrote in the citation. “He stated to me he had taken a few Neurontin before coming to Walmart.”
Hall was arrested at 8:43 p.m. on Nov. 11 and charged with public intoxication (controlled substance).
A third party signed for the $2,500 surety bond and Hall is on home incarceration.
