A 38-year-old Letcher County man faces two felony charges after a two-vehicle accident at Dry Fork Tuesday afternoon.
Rocky Lee, of Isom, was charged with second-degree assault and wanton endangerment after the accident, which resulted in minor injuries to his 12-year-old daughter and a passenger in an SUV that was “clipped” by Lee’s out-of-control Hyundai automobile.
Letcher County Deputy Sheriff Sydney Fields said Lee was also charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, a misdemeanor.
According to Fields, who is investigating the wreck, Lee was driving on KY 15 toward Isom when Lee’s car struck the guardrail on northbound side of the road, then veered out of control and hit the guardrail on the southbound side, clipping a Ford Explorer in the process.
Fields said Lee’s daughter and a passenger in the Explorer were treated for minor injuries at the Whitesburg hospital and released.
Fields said Lee expressed regret for causing the wreck.
“He knows what he did was wrong,” Fields said. “He’s owning up to it.”
