A Millstone man remains in jail after a police officer says he saw him give a pill to a juvenile last week.
Assistant Whitesburg Police Chief Tyrone Fields said he saw Richard H. Adams Jr., 24, of 98 Canary Drive, Millstone, take a small pill from his pocket and place it into the hand of a 17-yearold female at 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 20. Fields confronted Adams and the female, who were standing on a sidewalk at Alaska Avenue, while she still had the pill in her hand.
According to an arrest citation, Adams said the pill belonged to the female and they had traded some marijuana, but the female said that wasn’t true. Fields said Adams had a round pill and three halves of other pills and marijuana on him as well as a set of brass knuckles in his back pocket.
Adams was charged with public intoxication (controlled substance excluding alcohol), first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, trafficking in a controlled substance within a 1,000 yards of a school, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, seconddegree possession of a controlled substance, unlawful transaction with a minor, and carrying a concealed weapon.
Bond is set at $20,000 cash.
