ROYAL PALM BEACH, Fla.
A Florida man has been charged with stealing more than $14,000 worth of brass cemetery vases.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff ’s Office reports that 29-year-old Shaun Beasley was arrested May 7 after trying to sell the vases to a local recycling company.
The vases were reported stolen May 6 from the Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery. A detective began calling recycling companies and learned that two men had off ered to sell 70 vases to one of the companies.
Surveillance footage of a license plate at the cemetery led detectives to Beasley, of Royal Palm Beach. A search of his home allowed deputies to find 61 vases, worth about $230 each.
Beasley was charged with theft and dealing in stolen property. He was being held on $5,000 bail.
