Happy birthday to Zoey Hammons of Perry County. She turned 1 on Feb. 22. She is the daughter of Leslie Gibson and Jerry Hammons, and the granddaughter of Manford Gibson and the late Lisa Gibson. She has an older sister, Laureen, who is 6.
Anthony Luke Parker Reynolds was born Tuesday Feb. 21, at 11:34 a.m. to Jerry Adam and Marlana Reynolds of Isom. He weighed 6 pounds, 14.5 ounces, was 19 inches long. Paternal grandparents are Jerry Reynolds Jr. of Isom and Regina and Mike Watkins of Raleigh, N.C., and maternal grandparents are Marty and Helen Engle of Carcassonne. He has an older sister, Annie Reynolds, and older brother, Brady. He was taken to Pikeville Hospital because of breathing problems and as of the 1st he was still in and had lost a few ounces. I hope he gets to come home soon.
Happy birthday to Tori Reid of Lexington. She turned 4 on Feb. 22. She is the daughter of Linsey and Jarrod Reid, the granddaughter of Jeff and Kay Hampton of London, and the great-granddaughter of Jean Hampton of Letcher and Mae fugate of Carcassonne.
Happy birthday to Rosemary Rowe of Blackey; it was on Feb. 29. Racheal Smith of Blackey had one on March 3, and Gwen Dixon of Elk Creek on March 2.
My parents Pnut and Jean went to Lexington on Thursday for his two doctor’s appointments. He was told he may have to have surgery on a blockage in his neck. He has had it done before but they said as of now everything was looking good and he didn’t need anything done right now. It was a small blockage.
Coolidge ‘Cooge’ Cornett, 84, of Ulvah, died Feb. 18 at Letcher Manor Nursing Home. My sympathy to the family.
Bruce Gilley Sr. of Doty Creek is still in Hazard Appalachian Regional Hospital. He has been in for about two weeks with breathing problems.
Doreen Calhoun has been having pain in her leg and the doctor found out she had three blood clots. She is now on medicine for that and said the pain is now gone.
Letcher Fire and Rescue and Pine Mountain Search and Rescue are among other agencies in our area which headed out on Saturday to the counties in Kentucky that needed help with the search after the bad storms we got Friday night. It was sad the people and places that was lost.
Happy anniversary to Rayen and Venora ‘Dandy’ Walters of Carcassonne. It was their sixth on March 3.
Danny ‘ Hoot’ Campbell of Jeremiah is still in a hospital in Lexington with lung problems. He was told he was not a candidate for a lung transplant so they are exploring other ways to treat him. He said to tell everyone thanks for their thoughts and prayers.
