Margurite R. Schell was Backgammon champion


Memorial services for Margurite R. Schell were held recently at Kingscreek.

A daughter of the late Isaac Howard and Cora Marie Polly Ratliff, she died May 10 at the Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

She was the widow of Fleming C. “Bud” Clardy, and was later married to Leonard Schell, who also preceded her in death.

She enjoyed playing games, and was a worldclass champion in Backgammon.

Surviving are a son, Fleming C. “Bud Junior” Clardy of Medford, Oregon; a daughter, Alesia Clardy of St. Charles, Missouri; a sister, Linda Raleigh and husband Addie of Lauderdale by the Sea, Florida; two grandchildren, Tiana Duda of Des Moines, Iowa and Krista C. Duda of Boston, Massachusetts; and a friend of over 35 years, Terry Whited.

Mrs. Schell was also preceded in death by three brothers, Lindsay, Howard, and Lee Ratliff, and a sister, Mary Ratliff.
