Geoff Marietta has been appointed Executive Director of Pine Mountain Settlement School. He succeeds Miriam Pride, who has been serving as Interim Executive Director.
A native of Minnesota, Dr. Marietta holds a bachelor’s degree in resource conservation from the University of Montana. He was a special education teacher in the Navajo Nation in New Mexico and earned a MAT in special education and a master of arts in educational leadership. He received an master of business administration degree from Harvard, and a doctorate in education in education policy, leadership and instructional practice.
He is married to Dr. Sky Brosi Marietta, whose mother, Connie, taught at Pine Mountain. Dr. Sky Marietta is an expert in literacy and early childhood education. The couple have two sons, Harlan and Perry.
The Pine Mountain Settlement school Board of Trustees will host a reception at the school to introduce the Mariettas to the community from 3 to 5 p.m., Saturday, June 13. All friends and neighbors of the school are invited to attend.
