My sympathy to the family of Stella Dixon of Blackey. She died June 22 at the Pikeville hospital. She had been sick for a long time. Stella was 84. Stella was such a good person; she will be missed.

Congratulations to Marlana and Adam Reynolds of Isom on the birth of their son. Andrew Allen Brady was born on June 21; he weighed 7 pounds, 7 ounces. They also have a beautiful little girl, Annie. The grandparents are Marty and Helen Engle of Carcassonne, Jerry Reynolds Jr. of Isom, and Regina and Mike Watkins of Raleigh, N.C.
My sympathy to the family of Louise Dixon of Elk Creek. She died June 23. Louise has been in Letcher Manor Nursing Home for a long time, and had recently had a heart attack. She was a very sweet person. Louise was 84.
Wesley Dixon of Elk Creek has been in the hospital again. He has bronchitis but is home now and is doing better. He is the son of John and Jenny Dixon.
Happy birthday to Wesley’s sister, Becky. She turned 16 on June 17.
Happy birthday to Asher Vanderpool of Carcassonne. He turned 1 on June 23. He is the son of Amanda and Manuel Vanderpool. His grandparents are Alan and Paula Vanderpool of Elk Creek, Debra Potter of Isom, and Brent and Teresa Potter of Tazewell, Tenn.
Virgil Combs of Carcassonne got to leave the hospital in Lexington on Friday. He was taken to Hazard for his rehab. Freda and the family are so glad to have him closer to home.
I talked to Martha Bburns of Blackey and she wanted to thank everyone for the love she and her family were shown when her son, Marty Lusk, recently died. She said that’s what helped her get through it.
Happy birthday to Pauline Smith of Carcassonne. She turned 6 on June 25. She is the daughter of Keith and Laura Smith.
Lois Packard of Carcassonne had to have an ambulance called for her on Friday. Her oxygen level was too low. I hope she gets better soon.
