Hello everyone, hope you are all doing well. Today is a beautiful day, but it is so cold! Today is a good day to stay in.
I don’t have to go anywhere so I am staying in. I made a cake and it turned out good. I hope I don’t eat it all in one day. It seems like when you stay in, all you want to do is eat. I’m sure none of you are like that!
I talked with Dorthy Tacket. She said she had a great Thanksgiving and a great New Year’s Day with most of her family, and they played tricks on her and kept her laughing. She sure enjoys her family, like I do with all of mine.
She said her sister, P. Hall, is back in Pikeville Hospital and has lost a toe, but she’s doing better. I wish her well. She is one of my best friends.
I also heard the Marlowe reunion is still making plans for May 23 at Earnest Cook’s Park across the road from Whitesburg ARH. It will be a great place for it with lots of room and parking.
I got a call from my old friend Iva (Absher) Cheath- am in Stanford. She has not been well, but she and her children, Jack and Brenda, are doing better.
I’m always glad to hear from one of our Marlowe people. She said her friend — mine too — Claudine (Brown) Sturgill of Ohio, has been having the flu, but is some better. She is one of our Marlowe friends.
I haven’t heard from Anna Watkins of Florida in a while. I need to call her. She wasn’t feeling well when I talked to her around Christmas, and also Ada (Miller) King of Ohio.
I have a hard time trying to keep up with everyone. I think about them all.
I offer my sympathy to the family of Jerry York. He lived near me when he was a young boy. I think he was living in Florida. His brother, Ernie York, and wife Mary live next door to me.
I have been a little under the weather and icy roads, and didn’t get a chance to go to the funeral. I didn’t find out when it was.
We have a lot of sickness in our family.
I was so sorry to hear of the death of Dean Wilson, a son of the late Lucy and Bro. Robert “Buddy” Wilson. He built the church that I go to now. He was pastor there for many years, until his death. They had a large family and were well loved.
The sun was pretty, but it sure wasn’t warm. I’m ready for springtime now, but I’ll have to wait.
I enjoy talking to all my sons these cold days. We always find things to talk about and we always get around to talking about food and about everything.
I haven’t heard how Kevin Day is. I hope he is doing better. Also, Bro. Earnest Brock is not doing well and really needs everyone’s prayers, and also his wife Kathleen.
I went to Save A Lot, hoping to see some friends, but I didn’t see one single person I knew, and the store was full. I couldn’t believe it!
I’m glad to get to go back to Sunday school and church. I have had to miss some because of the weather. I hope I have some good news for next week.
I talked to my son Astor in Georgetown, and he and his family were doing okay.
I did hear that Bro. Earnest Brock is feeling better and I’m so glad!
Anytime any one of you have any news, send it to me and I’ll be glad to put it in for you.
I’m tired of writing, and I’m sure you are tried of reading. I rattle on and one sometimes.
May God bless all of you. Try to be in church somewhere this week if you are able.
