Mary Lou Fields will be missed

Hello everyone. I hope all had a good week. Last week it was a sad community, but also a happy one that Mary Lou Fields is no longer in pain and suffering. She went home to be with the Lord on June 16 at her sister Hazel Rayburn’s home, surrounded by family and friends.

Mary Lou Fields was born Nov. 10, 1929. She was the daughter of the late Jane Miles Fields and Grant Fields. She was 81 years old at the time of her death. She did a lot of good deeds for people. She loved nature, and she loved her family and friends.

She was a rock for the community and will be missed by everyone who knew her. She is survived by two sisters, Hazel Rayburn and Carol Ison and husband Kendall, and a son, Jimmy Darrell McIntosh and wife Pam, several nieces and nephews, eight grandchildren and 11 greatgrandchildren, and lots of other friends and relatives.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Doug, Donald Gay, Fred, and Ed Neil Fields, and two sisters, Hattie Fields and Helen Fields York, two brothers-in-law, Earl Rayburn and Ralph York, and two sons, Eddie and Benny McIntosh. Big Cowan

The funeral was June 18 at Everidge Funeral Home, with Dock Frazier and Charles Shepherd. Services on Friday night were held by Merle Caudill and Wayne Smith (Old Regular Baptist). Lots of people attended. Please keep her family in your prayers.

We picked up our granddaughter Rebecca and her friend Brittany up at Lexington last Saturday to come down for a visit. Brittany Nash has never been here. I hope she enjoys it. Rebecca loves to cook, so she is spoiling her papaw and me.

An error was made in last week’s paper. George Allen Adams went to Indiana — not India — for a telethon. Sorry about the misprint.

Deolia and Elmo Day are in need of prayer, and also Anna Lou Maggard Combs. They are all in bad health.

Congratulations to Jessie Boggs and Ross Cline on their wedding Saturday evening. She is the daughter of Cathy and Keith Boggs. I hope they will be very happy.

Also, Bobby and Debbie Howard’s daughter, Gabrielle, married Jonathon Adams. We wish all of them the best.

Brittany Nash will be 17, July 11. We want to wish her an early birthday as she will return to Greensburg, Ind., before then.

Well folks, I will close for now. Teenagers have text phones and cell phones going off. I can’t seem to think. So have a good week until next time.

Be good to one another, attend the church of your choice, and keep everyone in your prayers.
