Police are on the lookout for an unknown white male believed to be the masked gunman who robbed the Subway restaurant at Isom Tuesday night.
At approximately 8:25 p.m. on December 16, Kentucky State Police troopers from Post 13 in Hazard responded to the Subway, located at 75 Isom Plaza, after receiving a call that an armed man had robbed the business.
Troopers arrived at the scene and spoke with the Subway employee who had reported the incident. She advised them that the white male, whom she was unable to identify, entered the store armed with a rifle and demanded money. She said that after she complied with the robber’s demands and gave him the $486 that was there he fled the scene.
Police say the woman said she saw the robber leaving the area in a black Toyota or Nissan pickup truck, traveling south on KY Highway 7. The witness described the man as being about five feet, five inches tall and wearing black clothing and a black mask.
Police say no one was injured during the incident.
Troopers conducted a search of the scene but were unable to locate the suspect or his vehicle. This incident remains under investigation by Trooper Michael Burton with KSP Post 13.
